Obtainability[]

The Armor Wing is awarded after finishing the Heart of Darkness quest from the Battle for the Edge quest, and can be purchased for 750 gems (600 for members) in Store. It's available in the Dragonpalooza and there's a chance in being available on a Weekly Sale with an Adult Ticket Dragons adult token and a Titan Ticket Dragons titan token.

In Quests[]

Battle for the Edge[]

Quest: Stuck on You[]

The Armor Wing that lives on Armor Wing Island for unknown reason is losing pieces of its metal armor, leaving its soft skin defenseless. The player needs to find the suitable metal to help it build up its armor again.

In the quest the player will learn about magnetism in the lab, and it is explained that the Armor Wing is a living magnet, capable of attracting metals that are affected by magnetism, and then uses its fire to melt them forming an armor around its body. Similar to the Boneknapper, the dragon is defenseless without its armor.

The Armor Wing was trying to use Silver as material for its armor, but given that silver is not affected by magnetism, those fragments won't adhere to the dragon's body.

Return to Dragon Island[]

Quest: In Search of True North[]

A wild Armor Wing is with Fishlegs at Berk. Because Armor Wings generate a small magnetic field around them, they can make a compass points toward it instead of north.

History[]

  • July 14th, 2020: Armor Wing no longer requires the Battle for the Edge expansion to be unlocked from the Store and is available in Dragon Tactics.[1]

Trivia[]

  • Althought in both media and some game files, the name's primarily addressed as one word (Armorwing), in School of Dragons, it's always addressed as two separate words (Armor Wing).
