After you created an account, activated it and clicked "Play Now", the first thing that will come up (after the downloading screen) is your soon-to-be viking character.
Note that you will be able to costumize your viking after this and be able to purchase more clothing and/or facial traits via The Store, however, while you will be able to change your username by 50 Gems, your Gender can't be changed just like your Dragon's names.
How to customizeEdit
Before any touches are made, the viking will have black eyes, red hair, light-pinkish skin, and, the clothing is mostly either the first or third piece. The begining gender is always female however, you can change it.
The list goes in order from left to right, top to bottom.
In the upper left hand of the page, you are able to choose whether you want your viking to be a boy or a girl. The bottom is a girl, the top button is a boy. Click the buttons to change which gender you want.
Next to that is a title titled "Viking Name:" and a box bellow it saying "Enter name here...". Click on the box and type in the name that you want. The server must accept your name, and if it doesn't, then you must choose a new name.
Note that if the name has either:
- Inappropriate words
- Numbers (abbreviated)
The game won't accept it and will demand that you change it. However, the game strangely and sometimes accepts censored swears like "Puck".
In your username is invalid or has been taken, the game will offer suggestion of said username that you can take them. If none of the siggestions please you, you can close the window and redo your name.
At the bottom left center, there is a preview of what your character will look like in the game. The arrows on the bottom let you turn your character so you are able to see the character from different views. Click the arrows to be able to spin your character. Between the arrows, there's a randomize button.
However, due the small lighting on the left side, it can be difficult to see certain details like see if the color that you are using is too light or not.
Eyes, Hair, Skin, and (Facial) War PaintEdit
In the middle is four different categories: (going down) Eyes, Hair, Skin, and War Paint. There are pictures of each of them on the left side, and the color of the object on the right side. Click on the colors to customize the design you want for them (middle right) and color your want for them (bottom right). The ring around the color will be the one you are currently customizing. When you click on the color in a category to customize it, it also switches the category for the buttons (middle upper right)
At the most top right, there are two categorizes of customization: (left to right) Viking and Clothing. These categories have different options and choices to choose from to customize your character. The one that is a bright orange, you are currently in the options for, and the one that is grey is the one you do not currently have options for. Click on the categories to switch the one you are currently on.
Eyes, Hair, Skin, and War Paint Design CategoriesEdit
At the middle upper right, there are pictures that are for (going left to right) eyes, hair, skin, and War Paint. These let you see options for different designs in that category (middle right) and let you change the colors of them (middle). The one that is bright orange is the one you are currently customizing and have options for, and the grey ones are the ones you are not currently customizing or have options for. To change which you are currently customizing, click on the grey categories.
In the middle right, there is a large box with different designs that are available. Depending on which category you're on (middle upper right), you will have different designs for that category. To choose a different design for the category, click on a design.
To the bottom right, there's a color spectrum. By clicking anywhere on the spectrum, you are able to color the category that you are currently on (middle upper right). You are able to see which color you have chosen on the right side of the middle category.
In the middle upper right, there are categorizes that you can use to bring up different forms of clothing. The arrows on both sides let you see more categories. Click on ether of the arrows to scroll through more categories. The categories (from left to right) are Helmets, Shield, Shirts, Flight Suit, Bottoms, Shoes, Bands, Masks and Shoulder Pads. The one in bright orange is the one you currently have options for to customize, and the grey ones are the ones you do not currently have options for. Click on the grey categories to switch which category you currently have options for.
In the middle right, there is a large box with different designs that are available. Depending on which category you're on (middle upper right), you will have different designs for that category. To choose a different design for the category, click on a design. Unlike the Viking category, you can't customize the clothing color.
- In an unknown update and version, both Alvin Top and Alvin Leggings/Skirt are now added in the Viking costumization menu.
On the very bottom right is a rock that says "OK". Click that, and it will ask you if you want this viking. Click on the right box with a check mark, and the game will load. If your name is invalid or already taken, it will ask you to pick another name.
A bug occurred where players had the name "Viking-#######", where the last part of the name had a number on it.
- This was fixed on the 7/26/13 update
Error on creating a profileEdit
In 9/11/16 on Ver2.2.0, when clicking "OK", the player will recieve a message saying "There was an error while registering this profile. Please try again later." would appear, preventing the player from creating a viking.
This has been fixed lately.
