The announcement of the expansion on SoD Forum

Battle for the Edge is the third expansion pack released in School of Dragons. It was released on Dec. 18th 2015, as part of version 1.17.

Battle for the Edge was released ahead of the premier of the second season of Dragons: Race to the Edge, which, according to the game's developers, provided the inspiration for this expansion pack.

Basic Plot

Dragon Hunters are attacking Dragon's Edge and nearby Islands, capturing and injuring the dragons that live there. Your Viking is enrolled to help build up Dragon's Edge's defenses, and helping the dragons that fell under the Dragon Hunters attacks. You'll also explore different islands, learning more about the survival strategies of different dragons, adapted to different environments. You'll also meet the Archaeologist again, at a new digging site on one of the islands.

Meanwhile, a stranger arrives at Dragon's Edge offering help: Harald Forkbeard. Is he to be trusted?

What You Get

The Battle for the Edge Expansion Trailer

• Access to all the new Islands
• Your own customizable Hideout: this can be purchased on its own, for the players that don't want the expansion. It's found in the shop under Treasures -> Expansions -> Viking Hideout Map (200 gems, or 160 gems for members). Hideouts were billed as a major highlight of this expansion pack, to the point of receiving their own contest on the official School of Dragons forum

Multi-head Bonanza

Quest Giver: Tuffnut

Requirements: Complete Home Sweet Dragon's Edge

Unlocks: Go to Dark Deep

Details: A Hideous Zippleback needs your help

1. Go to Zippleback Island
2. Look for the twins by the Hideous Zippleback
3. Chop the snare net rope and free the Zippleback
4. Find a trap and shoot it to disable it (3)
5. Find Harald and talk to him
6. Get closer to the Snaptrapper
7. Return to Dragon's Edge and speak to Hiccup
8. Find the twins at Dragon's Edge
9. Talk to Snotlout

Go to Dark Deep

Quest Giver: Fishlegs

2. Talk to Harald at the beach
3. Lead Harald to the Prickleboggle trap
4. Gather the Dragon Hunters tools
5. Give the Dragon Hunters weapons to Hiccup at Dragon's Edge
6. Gather boulders around Dragon's Edge
7. Find Fishlegs by his boulders
8. Go to Dark Deep and mount the Prickleboggle
9. Come back to Dragon's Edge

1. Find Heather at Glacier Island
2. Click on Heather and follow her to the Snow Wraith cave
3. Look for the Snow Wraith in the cave - carefully
4. Look for the Snow Wraith on Glacier Island
5. Click on the Prickleboggle and mount him
6. Shoot the Snow Wraith with Prickleboggle's healing shot
7. Grab Heather's book
8. Give the book to Heather
9. Talk to Hiccup at Dragon's Edge
10. Gather foliage on Hobblegrunt Island (3)
11. Give the foliage to Heather
12. Go to the catapult at Dragon's Edge
